Congressional Information Service
Three decades ago, CIS was founded with a revolutionary product and a unique vision for the future of government information. The product was the CIS/Index to Publications of the United States Congress, which brought dramatic changes to libraries and opened vast research opportunities for information users worldwide. The vision was that government information would no longer be scarce commodity available to just a few Washington insiders, but a rich resource accessible to all.
Much has changed over 30 years, as the catalogue shows. CIS printed indexes and archival microfiche collections make vast information sources completely manageable.
